This combination medicine used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. glimepiride and pioglitazone is not for treating type 1 diabetes.

It can cause haedache, muscle pain, nausea, cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sinus pain, sneezing, sore throat.

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug.

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to pioglitazoneor glimepiride; or to other "glitazones" (e.g., rosiglitazone); or to other sulfonylureas (e.g., glipizide, tolbutamide); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

This medication may increase the risk of bone fracture (e.g., upper arm, hand, foot, ankle) in female patients. To lower the chance of getting injured, use caution when doing activities such as contact sports.

This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Limit your time in the sun. Avoid tanning booths and sunlamps. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Tell your doctor right away if you get sunburned or have skin blisters/redness.

You should not use this medicine if you have severe or uncontrolled heart failure, active bladder cancer, or diabetic ketoacidosis (call your doctor for treatment).

Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant.

Products that may interact with this drug are Acelofenac, aripiprazole, aspirin, captopril, diclofenac.
